Gearvise uses affiliate links. When you click a link and buy something, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This is our only revenue. It never influences what we recommend or how we score products.

What affiliate links are

Some links on Gearvise are affiliate links — tracked URLs containing a unique affiliate ID that allows retailers to attribute purchases to Gearvise and calculate the commission owed. When you make a purchase through one of these links, we earn a small percentage of the sale as a commission.

The price you pay is exactly the same whether you arrive through Gearvise or go directly to the retailer. You pay nothing extra. The commission comes from the retailer's margin, not from you.

How affiliate revenue works at Gearvise

Affiliate commissions are the only revenue Gearvise earns. There are no display advertisements, no sponsored posts, no brand partnerships, and no payments for editorial coverage. If Gearvise recommends a product, it is because the evidence supports that recommendation — not because a brand paid for it.

This model means Gearvise only earns money when readers find the reviews useful enough to buy through our links. That creates a direct incentive to be accurate and helpful — not to push expensive products or manufacture enthusiasm for products that do not deserve it.

What affiliate relationships never influence

The following are never affected by whether a product has an affiliate link, how high the commission rate is, or whether a brand has contacted us:

Every score is calculated using the same public methodology regardless of whether the product earns us a commission. A product that scores 4.2 is published as 4.2.

Written verdicts
If a product is not right for specific conditions, we say so. We do not soften negative findings because a product has a high commission rate.

Awards and recommendations
Editor's Choice, Best Buy, and Top Pick awards are assigned based on scores alone. No award has ever been given because of commercial considerations.

Score updates
When community data or new evidence changes a score, it is updated regardless of whether that change helps or hurts affiliate revenue from that product.

Identifying affiliate links

On Gearvise, any link pointing to a retail product page is an affiliate link. You do not need to look for special labels. If it links to a place where you can buy something, assume it is an affiliate link.

Internal links — links between Gearvise pages — are never affiliate links.
